W03 Learning Engagement and Learning Behavior Modeling

Learning engagement is both a variable that can be shaped by the environment and a strong predictor of student interest, academic achievement, and retention. Over the past two decades, academic interest in the study of learning engagement has grown, resulting in a stable and productive field of research. In the context of deep coupling of technology and education, the learning system generates rich log data covering learners' clicking behaviors, interaction behaviors, response feedbacks, and so on. Therefore, learning behavior modeling and interaction behavior analysis have also become a hot research topic in the field of learning analytics. In this workshop, we will explore the paradigms and methods of data-driven teaching and learning, and explore ways to understand learning outcomes and learning-related artifacts based on learning inputs, learning collaborative behaviors, and biodata indicators.

Through this workshop, we hope to reach in-depth exchanges and interactions, professional discussions and future cooperation intentions, with a view to triggering the collision of ideas and precipitation of results in the field of data-driven teaching and learning.

Workshop Chairman, Professor Qi Zhang (zqzqhata@sina.com)
