C9 Educational Technology: Innovations, Policies & Practice

Educational technology has emerged as a new discipline as we integrate emerging technologies, notably information and communications technology, into the existing education system. It can be understood as “the study and ethical application of theory, research, and best practices to advance knowledge as well as mediate and improve learning and performance through the strategic design, management and implementation of learning and instructional processes and resources” (https://aect.org/news_manager.php?page=17578). With the rapid changes in the global educational environment, especially in the post-pandemic era and the age of generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI), educational technology is becoming increasingly important worldwide. We have witnessed the rise and development of various learning theories and tools (e.g., distance learning, hybrid learning, personalized learning, collaborative learning tools, and learning analytics) and the transformative impacts of AI on learning. Additionally, ethical issues in educational technology, such as data privacy and algorithm fairness, are gaining attention. Therefore, this conference aims to explore these emerging issues and challenges and find innovative solutions.

Paper Submission Guidelines:


This track only accepts paper submissions (long, short, or poster papers) and does not accept abstract submissions. The conference adopts a double-blind peer-review system, where the names of authors and reviewers are not disclosed to each other. Therefore, during the peer review stage, authors should remove their information from the paper (including the title, main text, and references). Upon acceptance, the final version of the paper should include relevant author information.


Starting from 2020, the nine sub-conferences of GCCCE only collect papers in Chinese. Therefore, papers submitted to this sub-conference must be written in Chinese (long papers of eight pages, short papers of four pages, posters of two pages). Chinese papers must provide titles, abstracts, and keywords in both Chinese and English. For submission, full text in Word format should be uploaded to the conference website: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=gccce2024. Please refer to the conference paper format example [Chinese] to prepare your paper. All English papers should be submitted to the “English Paper Track”, regardless of the topic.


At least one author must register and attend to present the paper once it is accepted.
